God Provides..Again

The title of my post today needs to be the theme of our family...God Provides. I have seen it time and time again in various ways within our little family. Even though I have seen His provision so much and know that it is promised in Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus", I still get taken back sometimes by how and when he provides. Tonight is one of those "I can't believe it" times.

Abby will begin taking piano lessons next week. I have been so excited about it and looking forward to it pretty much since she was born. Yesterday Miss Moore confirmed what day she would be giving Abby lessons, and I began thinking about what we were going to do about practicing. We don't have a piano or keyboard at home, and I sure didn't think we had the space or the money to buy one. I checked around online and in the papers yesterday looking for a used weighted keyboard. Couldn't find one. Then I started checking on buying a new one. Very expensive. Oh well, I thought, somehow God will provide for this, even if it means just coming up to the school or church to practice. Not gonna worry about it.

Early this evening I get a phone call. It is a lady from our church who I hardly know, but have been in choir with in the past and in Bible studies with. She says, "I am getting ready to have new flooring installed in my house and am looking to get rid of my old piano. Barbie said she thought you might be interested in getting a piano for your girls if they take piano lessons someday. It is my childhood piano, and I wouldn't want to just give it to anybody, but I would be thrilled if I knew it was going to be used by little girls learning to play the piano." I almost dropped the phone. Yes you read that right "GIVE it to us". She wants to GIVE her childhood piano to a practical stranger? AND, how did Barbie even know I was considering Abby taking piano lessons now?

Of course, if you know me, you know the next thought I had was "Where on Earth in this tiny house would I put a full size piano?". After discussing it with Justin we figured we could move some things and get rid of something else in order to make room.

Even neater is the lady who wants to give us this piano lives less than a mile from us, and she wants to hire a professional piano mover to move it to our house. Abby and I went over to her house tonight to measure it and look it over. It is very nice, and I feel so blessed to be the recipient of it. Even neater than that is I feel like this really confirms that Abby should be taking piano lessons now. I pray that God will allow her to love it, thrive in it, and use it ultmately to glorify Him. I don't always understand why God chooses to bless in the ways He does, but I am certainly very grateful. God is good.

Back to School

Today marked the beginning of a new school year for our family! Abby began first grade, Hallie is in 4K, and Lilly is in her last year of Mother's Day Out! I know everyone says this, but they really do grow up so fast! I try very hard to enjoy each day and absorb every little thing about them being little yet sometimes, most-times, I feel like I am so busy that I miss so much! I feel so blessed to work where Abby and Hallie go to school because it neat to see them walk down the hall and wave at me as they pass the office. Or I can sometimes sneak into our superintendent's office and peak at them during recess playing on the playground with their friends. I can get to know personally each of their precious teachers who I know love my girls and all their students as if they were their own children. What a blessing it is to work there. I was watching a program the other day on t.v. about a sixteen year old girl who had some condition that caused her not to grow much bigger than the size of an infant and her brain would not develop much more than the age of a small child. However, she continued to age... just not mature or grow. I try to remind myself how fortunate we are to have three healthy daughters, and that even though it is hard to watch them grow up, how sad it would be if they couldn't.

I better stop there before this turns into a depressing blog. :) Anyway, we all had a great first day of school! Here are some pictures from this morning!

My first grader!!

My 4K girl!

My only Mother's Day Out preschooler!

The two "big school" girls!

Cuz was waiting for us at the front of the school!

Daddy & Mommy with the two big school girls! Lilly we can't wait for you to be in this picture next year! Something's definitely missing without you!

Five out of the six Moseley grandchildren! Again, Lilly we can't wait for you to join us!

4K cousins. No, Hallie is not wearing high heels.

Abby and one of her bestest buddies, Jessica!

Abby and another bestest buddy, Andie. They were born 5 days apart, and have been together in classes every year since they were two years old! No, Abby isn't wearing high heels, either.

Last but certainly not least: Josh & Abby. Best Friends Forever. I think they are getting to the age though where they don't want to admit it... can you tell?

This year Josh and Abby are in different classes. :( They do still see each other at recess and at church on Wednesday night and Sunday. However, Justin saw Josh in the hallway today at school and he said Josh told him "I am really going to miss Abby during the weekdays!" What a sweet boy! He always takes good care of his friend.

Well, that's all for now. Homework is done, girls bathed and in bed, time to pack lunches, go to bed, and start all over again tomorrow! I can't wait!

Jumping for Joy

Justin and I bought the girls a trampoline last night. We had talked about getting them one for a couple of years now, and finally felt that they were all old enough to handle it! Justin put it together this morning along with the net to keep them from falling off! Even though it has felt like 100+ degrees today, they have had the best time jumping on it! Here was the process of setting it up:

From the truck...

To the garage...

Gotta read the instructions!...

Lilly checks out every detail...

To the backyard...

Hallie helps...

Abby helps...

Starting to look like a trampoline!....

Water break! It is hot!

Roger thinks it is nice that we are giving him a covered bathroom area!

Daddy breaks out the famous Grand Canyon water rafting/Chinese farmer/Austrailian outbacker/lawnmowing/I don't want skin cancer hat!

Putting up the safety net...

Ta da! We have a trampoline! (All except for the padded cover for the springs that was supposed to go on before the net! Oh well, we will fix that later!) Now, there is only one thing left to do...

JUMP!!

What fun! By the way, if you haven't yet, check out our summer 2009 slide show at the very bottom of the page!

A Very Spiritual Doll

Abby wanted me to write a blog about her new doll, Elizabeth. She earned Elizabeth this week by memorizing each of her five memory verses during the Child Evangelism Fellowship's Five Day Club at our church. CEF chooses different cities each year to go to and hold five day clubs at dozens of churches in that city. Their goal is to train local church members on how to reach kids for the Lord. This year Little Rock was one of their cities. Our school actually let them stay in our facilities. The total enrollment city-wide was around 1,000 kids. From the reports we've heard, out of those 1,000 kids, there were around 200 professions of faith. CEF will be featured sometime next month on Good Morning America. It seems like a really awesome organization with a great program for reaching kids for Christ.

Elizabeth, Abby's doll, is kind of like a talking, more spiritual American-Girl doll. She quotes 13 different Bible verses and sings songs. Pretty neat, yet just a little spooky. You can judge for yourself:

Abby, we are so proud of you! Continue memorizing scripture and hiding God's Word in your heart!
